Using macro tubes 2 segments and 50mm lens

Man, I love this 50mm lens. It's wide enough to get an environmental portrait but letting you to focus right on the subject.

Definitely one of my favorites lens for portraits.

1) Tungsten domestic light upper right
2) Pop up flash -1 to triggering speedlight
3) Speedlight as slave at 1/4 bouncing on the wall

2) Pop up flash de la cámara para disparar el flash
3) Flash esclavo en 1/4 desde la izquierda rebotando en la pared a menos de 1.5 metros de la modelo.

I took this Orchidaceae while playing with my new speedlight and the macro tube. In this case I used only 1 segment of the tube since I wanted to capture the main attraction of the flower without loosing deep of field. Apperture value was not automatically recorder within EXIF because the macro tubes. I used 11f in manual mode with a 50mm lens.

Tomé esta orquídea mientras practicaba con mi nuevo flash y un tubo macro. En este caso usé sólo un segmento del tubo ya que quería sacar la parte más atractiva sin perder profundidad de campo. No sale la apertura grabada en el EXIF por el tubo macro. Usé 11f en modo manual con un lente de 50mm

This is the Story of Miguel Angel Acevedo (72), an artist homeless living on the streets that using a really educated vocabulary he told me about his life.

Homeless for more than 10 years, he managed to keep drawing and painting his dreams. He uses anything he finds in order to create art including old papers, dirt, grease, dried watercolors, etc.

He told me he was actor, photographer (using old 6mm films back those days) and sketcher. Now he lives on the streets and he rather ask for drawing suppliers more than food or money.

He kinda broke my heart.

Esta es la historia de Miguel Angel Acevedo (72), un artista sin hogar que vive en las calles y que usando un rico y educado vocabulario me contó sobre su vida.

Linyera desde hace más de 10 años, se las arregló para dibujar y pintar sus sueños. Usa cualquier cosa que encuentra para crear arte incluyendo tierra, grasa, témperas secas, etc.

Me contó que fue actor, fotógrafo (usaba películas de 6mm en aquellos días) y dibujante. Ahora vive en las calles de Córdoba y prefiere pedir instrumentos para pintar más que comida o dinero.

En cierta forma me rompió el corazón.

Sigo probando el 50mm. La verdad que me gustan los resultados que da en retratos con poca luz ambiental.

Sigo teniendo alguna dificultad para enfocar pero creo que le voy tomando el pulso.

Todavía me cuesta decidirme por el retrato en color o en b&n, en este caso me gustó el resultado en color, pero el B&N es fantástico para definir expresiones.

Primeras pruebas con el nikkor 50mm 1.8. Es complicado lograr un enfoque manual perfecto con una profundidad de campo tan estrecha.

En este caso rompí un poco la simetría con la tapa superior del cartón de huevos.

El enfoque de la línea de huevos seleccionada, no fue perfecta. La superficie del huevo parece estar nítida, pero no tanto los bordes. Esto se da porque la profundidad de campo es de menos de dos centímetros
