This Catholic Church is located in a spectacular zone surrounded by trees in the middle of the mountains in La Cumbrecita, Córdoba, Argentina.

Esta pintoresca capilla se encuentra en una zona privilegiada de esta comunidad ya que se encuentra en una ladera. Se accede por dos diferentes caminos desde el pueblo, ambos muy recomendados.

En esta capilla solo se celebran casamiento y eventos puntuales ya que las misas son brindadas en el centro del pueblo.

Man, I love this 50mm lens. It's wide enough to get an environmental portrait but letting you to focus right on the subject.

Testing the macro filter on a 18-105mm lens. This is my first macro filter experience.

Set up: Speedlight set at 1/24 using a home made softbox triggered by pop-up camera flash.

I can say the distortion on borders is quite important compared to the macro tubes. However the possibility of using automated focusing is quite an advantage.

I took this Orchidaceae while playing with my new speedlight and the macro tube. In this case I used only 1 segment of the tube since I wanted to capture the main attraction of the flower without loosing deep of field. Apperture value was not automatically recorder within EXIF because the macro tubes. I used 11f in manual mode with a 50mm lens.

Tomé esta orquídea mientras practicaba con mi nuevo flash y un tubo macro. En este caso usé sólo un segmento del tubo ya que quería sacar la parte más atractiva sin perder profundidad de campo. No sale la apertura grabada en el EXIF por el tubo macro. Usé 11f en modo manual con un lente de 50mm

In this case I´d to set the focus of the Cosinon almost to infinity, and even though the bote was quite far from me, it got a great sharpened picture.

This is a test of an old Cosinon lens 135mm 2.8F mount M42 in a Nikon D90. I used a M42/IA Nikon adapter in order to use it in a Nikon D90. I assume lens is a bit dirty (may be fungus) since it creates a glow in certain borders.

This is the Story of Miguel Angel Acevedo (72), an artist homeless living on the streets that using a really educated vocabulary he told me about his life.

Homeless for more than 10 years, he managed to keep drawing and painting his dreams. He uses anything he finds in order to create art including old papers, dirt, grease, dried watercolors, etc.

He told me he was actor, photographer (using old 6mm films back those days) and sketcher. Now he lives on the streets and he rather ask for drawing suppliers more than food or money.

He kinda broke my heart.

Linyera desde hace más de 10 años, se las arregló para dibujar y pintar sus sueños. Usa cualquier cosa que encuentra para crear arte incluyendo tierra, grasa, témperas secas, etc.

I fired several shots until I get a decent one. In this case the background doesn't help to the composition, I would have preferred a darker one like a dark green leave for example.

Anyway, cheap macro tubes work, it's just about dominating the technique with practise.

Saqué esta misma foto varias veces hasta que al final una me gustó. Así y todo el fondo de la imagen no me convence, hubiera quedado mucho mejor un fondo oscuro como el verde de alguna hoja por ejemplo.

I particularly don't like this kind of shots, but I've to agreed it's extremely attractive shooting a windows to get its reflection.

Clouds dress a photo like a dress to a bride. However having too much clouds make the sky to look closed and depressed. However, if you have some clouds and a bit of sun passing through, you could take really attractive pictures.

Patterns on a Seed

As you may know, I'm trying to dominate the macro tube technique. In this case I used 2 segments of the tubes to get this shot.

The photographed seed is about 1 centimeter in diameter.

I honestly don't know what plant this seed is from.

I keep playing with the 3 segment macro tube. In this case I picked a weird hairy plant and wet plant.

I don't like DOF that much in this picture since there are several random interesting focused points within a kinda chaos. I think I would had to increase the DOF by closing the aperture (however it needs a lot more light I used). It's quite difficult to see this at the very moment you are taking the picture with the tubes.

Anyway I like colors and composition.

I'm trying a new macro extension tube. It works great even though It has to be used 100% in manual mode (even aperture has to be set analogically) since does not share information with the lens.

I will keep posting some macro tests for a few days until I get familiar with this technique.

I find panning technique quite difficult to achieve, specially when having hard sun light like in this case.

I've to use a relative closed aperture in order to reduce the shutter speed considerably.

I made a bunch of shots and this is one of the best in terms of panning. However I forgot to set the camera on burst mode what would help me a lot.

One big stupid and ovbious tip: Double check the configuration of your camera before doing a photo trip or a photo trekking.

I forgot the ISO set up to 800 and all these pictures came up a little bit noisy.

Anyway, I liked this shot.

Next time I've to slow ISO down, Close aperture and slow down the shutter to capture the movement of the propellers.

Sigo probando el 50mm. La verdad que me gustan los resultados que da en retratos con poca luz ambiental.

Sigo teniendo alguna dificultad para enfocar pero creo que le voy tomando el pulso.

Todavía me cuesta decidirme por el retrato en color o en b&n, en este caso me gustó el resultado en color, pero el B&N es fantástico para definir expresiones.

Primeras pruebas con el nikkor 50mm 1.8. Es complicado lograr un enfoque manual perfecto con una profundidad de campo tan estrecha.

En este caso rompí un poco la simetría con la tapa superior del cartón de huevos.

Primeras pruebas con el nikkor 50mm 1.8. Esta composición apunta a la simetría. Siempre me gustó lo simétrico.

El enfoque de la línea de huevos seleccionada, no fue perfecta. La superficie del huevo parece estar nítida, pero no tanto los bordes. Esto se da porque la profundidad de campo es de menos de dos centímetros

Prueba de retrato en plano cerrado. Probé en color y en B&N pero me gustó más así.

En lo personal creo que le faltó aumentar un poco más la profundidad de campo.
